IFR Clearance

We expect you to include the following in your initial call for clearance:

  • Information
  • Stand
  • Aircraft Type
  • FL on request

“Springbok 236 with information Alpha, stand A1, type A333, request clearance to London Heathrow, FL340 on request.”

The controllers reply will be structured in the following way (In case of Published SID) :

  • Cleared to Destination
  • FL on request
  • After departure RWY
  • Comply SID
  • Initial Climb
  • Departure frequency
  • Squawk

“Springbok 236, cleared to London Heathrow, FL340. After departure RWY 03L, comply VASUR3A SID. Radar frequency 124.500. Squawk 2673.”

The controllers reply will be structured in the following way (in case of Vectored Departure):

  • Cleared to Destination
  • FL on request
  • After departure RWY
  • Departure Instruction
  • Initial Climb
  • Departure frequency
  • Squawk

“Springbok 236, cleared to London Heathrow, FL340. After departure RWY 03L, maintain runway heading. Radar frequency 124.500. Squawk 2673.”
